Golden Masa Harina - 22 oz

Purchased these to make tamales at a little tamale party with friends. It was a "bring your own masa" gathering, so we had several types of masa there. I think the Bob's was the most popular and easiest to work with

My only other experience with masa harina was with Maseca ... IMHO Bob's Red Mill Masa Harina is superior in flavor to Maseca. Followed directions exactly and resulting tortillas were excellent ... great texture, flavor, appearance. Corn flavor is noticeable and not 'phony' tasting. Would definitely buy again.

I rather pay more for this non GMO masa than the regular one at the supermarket. Note that it is very important for this one to use hot water when mixing it because it helps activate it to get stickier. The first batch I made I used room temperature water and the masa was flaky.

I have a recipe which calls for masa harina and my local market didn't carry it, so I ordered this from . It's great stuff, high quality as is always the case with Bob's Red Mill.

I love this Cornmeal masa. We bought a tortilla press and make weekly dinners with fresh corn tortillas and beans - a new family tradition that my whole family enjoys. This masa is so fresh and easy to use. We just add water and a little salt just the like the directions on the back say - the fresh tortillas are so delicious with a little cheese or avocado! The price here on is unbeatable.
